Tools for your online Business

Today I want to share a list of a few tools you may want to have in your digital toolbox for running your online business. In subsequent posts I will go through each program and give my personal review with pros and cons of each.

Most of the programs listed below are free or have a very small investment. Wbasecamphen considering the costs of a traditional business these tools are comparatively very affordable. :)

Basecamp: this is a project management system if you have team members, virtual assistants, clients etc. this is a great program to collaborate and keep everything in one place. Investment depends on the number of projects you have

Canva: this program is a simple graphic design software that you can use for creating images for social media and your blog posts. You can create your facebook headers and size up photos they fit based on social media platforms. Totally free unless you want to use their images, then you pay a $1.00 or whatever is indicated on the image.

Carbonite: Must have to back up everything that you have on your computer. There is an annual fee but well worth your peace of mind.

Dropbox:  This is a great sharing software, free and you can increase your space by sharing your link. Thanks for using mine! Evernote

Evernote: this program is my digital brain! Whenever I have a thought, need to take notes, record anything, save something it all goes into Evernote. Evernote has so many features in the free version that I personally have not used the paid version. This is a must have tool!

Fiver: A great place to outsource one time projects from creating images, banners, logos etc. For long term projects and tasks you may want to consider a Virtal Assistant. Contact me for further informaton about hring a a VA.

Freshbooks: a simple to use bookkeeping and invoice software. Sooo much easier then quickbooks or peach tree.

Get Response: one of the most important assets you can own online is your digital list. This is how you cultivate your relationships and build your tribe.

Google products: Google Drive, Google Keep, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Voice, You Tube, Google Hangouts, and Google Plus. Here is the link for these products

Insightly: A simple to use contact management system. This is different than Get Response, because this is where you can keep notes on potential clients, vendors, partners etc. You can create task lists, projects and much more. You can use the free version up to 2500 records, then it starts at only $15/month for additional records. Insightlylogo

Join.me this is a really simple to use screen sharing program. You can share your screen or have a client/customer share their screen

My Hours: this is a time tracking program, you can set it up based on clients and projects

My SMS: love this tool because it’s a texting program that you can use on your desktop. Simple to use and free unless you want the additional features

PassPack: oh yes, a place to store ALL your passwords. I use this as a backup program to keep every single password. I use another program for everyday use, but passpack is a great location to store old passwords and current ones as a backup plan! This is another free tool that all business owners should consider.

Paypal: there are many financial gateway programs. Personally I have used PayPal for years without any glitches. It’s easy to set up and integrate with any of your bank accounts and programs.

Schedule Once: if you are booking appointments this is a great tool so you don’t have to go back and forth trying to figure out schedules. Simply send someone a link and they book the appointment. (done). You can also embed this system on your website.SurveyMonkey

Skype: this might seem like an outdated piece of software but every time I think to about canceling my account, I end up using it that day! I use Skype two ways, one to have another local number (which you can also do with Google Voice – mentioned above). You can pay $2.99 and call any number within the US and Canada. Skype is also a great way to communicate with international clients and partners.

Survey Monkey: This is a simple and easy software to obtain surveys and ideas. You are limited to 10 questions in the free version and your tracking items are minimal, so again it will depend on your needs whether or not you upgrade to the paid version or not. It’s another invaluable tool when used!

You need a budget: This is a fantastic program that I recently discovered. It’s designed to help us assign every single dollar a job! Our money should be working for us not dictating how we live our life. There is an annual fee for this program but well worth it, you can try it out for a full 34 days.

Virtual Assistant (VA): A VA is a vital silent partner that I personally believe every business owner needs.  Contact me for further information about hiring a VA!

Vistaprint: a great resource for business cards, brochures or any other printed business collateral you may need. (contact me for a $10.00 voucher for your first purchase).

Zoom: video conferencing program, there is a free version and paid levels for this program also.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Some of the above mentioned programs I do receive referral fees or a bonus for letting you know about these programs. Thank you for using the link provided above.

There are for sure many more tools and resources and this list is by no means everything that is available. This list is also ever changing based on your needs, technology and purposes.

Let me know what is ONE or TWO tools that you love that I left out?
